Peggy Hausman's lengthy experience, proven track record, and genuine enthusiasm for our hometown make her a perfect candidate for the Township Board of Directors. Peggy is the right person with the right ideas to encourage greater progress so that our community will reach its full potential. It is a privilege to endorse her to serve in this leadership position.

Peggy,

Lloyd Matthews and I talked last week.  Among other items he believes that you did not support the township propositions.  He felt that your actions at certain board meetings and siding with Cheryl Tangen and Karen Booren indicated opposition to the propositions.  He tried to convince me of his opinion.

I assured him that you did strongly supported and voted for the propositions.  However, you felt that being a speaker for "The Woodlands Decides" you did not campaign actively for the propositions.

I supported and voted for establishment of the township board.  I support and will vote for you for the township board.  You are a good representative for The Woodlands residents.

Mrs. Hausman is the kind of person who cares about people in her
community, even when she is no longer working directly with them.
Mrs. Hausman was my cub scout leader.  Long after I left scouting, she
would still call and check on how I was doing, and offer me
encouragement and support.  She stayed in touch with me all through
college, and when I was commissioned into the United States Army, she
was the first one to send a congratulatory letter.    Mrs. Hausman is
EXACTLY  the kind of person we need in government.

Nick Hausman

My name is Nick Hausman; I'm Peggy's oldest son and a child of The Woodlands, TX. I currently live in Chicago.  I've seen the rise of The Woodlands from nothing but sprawling trees, a few villages, and some strip malls all the way to... well, what it has become. I'm not saying that's bad, but it's definitely not the small town feel that I grew up with for sure. Not that I mind the mall, movies theatre or hundreds of restaurants. It seems it's just not the same. Land is being bought up and developed upon so quickly I don't think The Woodlands will retain any of its bike and hike trails or open wooded tranquility if it continues to develop as quickly as it has.

The Woodlands for me has always just been a collection of people that have always known what THEY wanted in a hometown. I have always thought of The Woodlands as its own City, but cities allow their citizens to have a say in how their community is allowed to flourish. I know one thing, for sure; my Mom is someone who has always listened to the voice of the community and done all in her power to keep life in The Woodlands a pleasant place for people to raise their families. She's not afraid to stand up for the people and I have no doubt that if you choose her to continue to represent you she will fight to keep your hometown, YOUR HOMETOWN. Make your own decision, but be happy you still can do that and know who is fighting to keep it that way.

Dear Friends:

I am voting for Peggy Hausman.  Peggy's 25 years of experience is a valuable resource for our community.  She can effectively navigate our political environment and ensure the residents' best interests are accommodated.  Peggy will preserve the integrity of our planned community.  She will champion smart growth, fair taxes, preservation of our hometown values, and all that has made The Woodlands the success it is today.  She is and continues to be, a true Hometown Hero.  I admire, respect, and support her decision to continue to serve our community.

One of Peggy’s many contributions to the Woodlands has been her support of the Boy Scouts. Her success in this volunteer effort is largely due to the fact that she represents and lives many of the Boy Scout tenets, two of them immediately come to mind; loyal and trustworthy.

While on the WCA board, Peggy always had time to talk, unlike many other board of directors, and discuss issues. Peggy and I don't always see eye to eye, but I respect her reasoning and decisions. I trust that her Christian beliefs will help lead The Woodlands towards incorporation as promised.

Peggy consistently votes in the best interest of the residents and is always fiscally prudent. She is a great choice to represent the The Woodlands residents as we move from our new district structure toward a city. Peggy has the experience and knowledge to lead effectively.

I am continually amazed by Peggy’s optimism and "can-do" attitude. She has been willing to go the extra mile without any desire or need to be recognized by her peers. Peggy's spirit of volunteerism and leadership skills will certainly benefit The Woodlands Township."

Tina Araujo
In my years as a resident of The Woodlands, I have yet to meet an individual with such depth of knowledge of the mechanics of all the various community organizations working in tandem to provide us services. And yet with this technical understanding of a very complex system, Peggy Hausman still has the sensitivity to keep the residents’ interests as the focal point of her decision-making. Now as we become citizens of The Woodlands Township (TWT), those chosen, elected to such a position as director on the board of policy makers for TWT, it is imperative that we elect an individual that has carried that sensitivity through the years and will continue to do so. Peggy Hausman is that person."

You are a wonderful person and I am fortunate to be able to call you a friend.....However, more important I believe you are a good person and have similar moral values to me and that is what is really important when it comes to having some one represent you in the community. You have lived in the Woodlands forever, you know everyone, and your heart is not only devoted to the community but with the people who live here.

Bobbie Torguson
I have known Peggy Hausman for 23 years and have witnessed first hand her sincere commitment in volunteering and always with a sincere desire to assist in whatever capacity. Peggy, a mother of 2 boys served on PTA boards and at the classroom level volunteered as room mother, planning field trips and heading up fundraising projects. Peggy has devoted countless hours as a den leader at the Cub Scout level and later working diligently with prospective Eagle Scouts, assisting them in securing eagle projects and offering support necessary in completing these projects. Peggy is also devoted to her faith community teaching religious education and assisting with fundraising necessary for our teenage youth to participate in mission trips to native American missions in AZ and Mexico. Peggy will continue to serve our community with leadership and integrity as she has in the past and will be a valuable asset to the Township Board of Directors –

We have known Peggy Hausman, her husband Mitch and her two sons, Nick and Pat, for 18 years. Peggy has been very active in our church, school and community. Peggy has done more than just get involved, she has made positive impacts for the community that she represents in the particular organization, whether it is students, residents, or parishioners. We have known her to always thoughtfully study the issues and seek positive outcomes, from an intelligent and independent perspective, particularly with regard to the developer related issues in The Woodlands. Nancy Barrow
Our family moved to The Woodlands 15 years ago. We came because the schools were excellent and we wanted to live somewhere with a small hometown atmosphere. I didn’t realize how small town it was until we moved in and kept seeing the same people over and over, especially one particular lady. The first time I saw her was at the PTO meeting at Sally K. Ride Elementary. She was the President at the time. The next time I saw her was when I went to enroll my son in Scouts. She was there recruiting scouts as the Den Mother. Imagine my surprise when I dropped my son off for CCE at St Simon and Jude and she was there again as the teacher. I thought this lady gets around but that is not all. While reading The Villager each week I saw her picture over and over again. She was listed as The Panther Creek Village President. The lady, and now good friend, I am referring to is Peggy Hausman. This was not just a one year “volunteer of the year” thing for her. She has continued through the years to play a very important role in the lives of my children. She was instrumental in helping my two sons achieve their Eagle Rank in Scouts. Throughout the years she has continued to hold offices for The Panther Creek Village Association and WCA. I continued to see her at my children’s schools organizing activities such as the school portraits and teacher luncheons. The Woodlands has changed a lot in the last 15 years and Peggy Hausman has had a lot to do with that. She has helped make The Woodlands the premier community it is today. I hope she will choose to continue to work tirelessly as a representative for our community. She has done a great job.

I would like you to add Tina’s and my names to your list of supporters.  We have always looked to you to be an advocate of economic growth in The Woodlands but planning it correctly so as not to deter the lifestyle that the residents have moved here for. Economic growth brings business here to The Woodlands and with that more residents.  We know that you understand this and are an advocate for increased business growth, but utilizing the right plan to accomplish this.  People move here for the overall lifestyle and with that comes business expansion.  We need to make sure that this expansion continues, but make sure the resident’s lifestyle is not impacted.  Tina and I know that you will fight for economic growth along with residents concerns and needs.
Thank you for all the work you have done,
Jerry Orebaugh

I first heard about Peggy Hausman before I met her. Our relationship evolved through Boy Scouts. She held the volunteer position of Eagle Coordinator with our troop for years.  I currently hold that position.  She initiated most of the Eagle Coordinator guidelines that we still use and will continue to use.  Scouts still seek her out for advice on their Eagle Projects. I finally met Peg about three years ago.  I know that isn't long but Peg makes an impression on people.  She did me.  I personally met Peg through the game of golf.  Not only does she play golf really well, I began to see, through continuous discussions on our various trips together, the family loving, highly intelligent, community concerned woman she is.  There is nothing Peg doesn't know about, in the happenings of the Woodlands or the city of Houston. Not only am I proud to have her as a friend, I am especially proud to be able to whole heartedly advocate her appointment to the Township Board of Directors.  I know Peg Hausman will act responsibly and fairly in every aspect of her duties. In closing, there are few people in any community that have Peg's special ability to see the big picture and then make fair and impartial decisions that would be in the best interest of The Woodlands Community.  Peggy Hausman has the Woodlands Community in her heart.

Peggy Hausman is a dedicated community leader who consistently puts The Woodlands’ residents first.  Her hard work and no-nonsense attitude sets her apart from other political candidates.  Peggy’s best quality is that she is a person that you can trust - a trust that she will look out for The Woodlands and get the job done in the best possible manner.

Kevin Sharples
Mrs. Hausman has not only been a role model in my life but a second mother to me as well. I cannot count how many times she has been there for me whether it be helping me obtain my Eagle Scout, reference letters, or something as simple as building my homecoming mum or girl talks. It’s been a tradition running on 15 years that we sit down at her counter table and talk about the gossip in my life, school, or goals she wishes to see me accomplish. She has instilled her morals and values in her two sons who I am proud to say Patrick will some day be my best man. I was honored to finally be able to write something to show how wonderful a person she is and what a significant part in my life she plays. Without a doubt anyone who knows Mrs. Hausman has their own story of how she has gone out of her way to help them and that is a testament to the person she is.

Val and Chris Florack
1. Experience - Peggy has a long history of significant involvement in the growth and governance of this community. This experience, which includes a deep understanding of the residences values and interests itself is valuable knowledge needed to steer the community through the upcoming transition.
2. Judgment - Experience is important, but only useful when combined with good judgment. Peggy has been on the right side of the critical community issues over the years starting with work with the Waste Management contract changes made 10 years ago which are still in place today to...(TBD)
3. Integrity - Peggy plants a firm stake in the ground on the positions she supports and is not influenced by the Development Company or by other special interests. "Go along to get along" is unfamiliar territory for Peggy.
This is a complete package for a representative of our community and we believe that Peggy will continue to represent the best interests of the community in this newly elected position.
Val and Chris Florack, DSC member
